Margot Jeanne Cohen is currently a PhD student in the Department of Geography at UC Berkeley. She studies critical participatory methods and knowledge practices, racial environmental geographies, and social movements. Choen also dabbles in political ecology, feminist science and technology studies (STS), and critical climate studies. Her dissertation project engages participatory action research (PAR) to examine the pedagogies and coalitional politics of relational organizing networks based in Amherst, MA, and Tarqui, Ecuador. She is the co-founder of the Participatory, Land-Based, and Critical Ecologies (PLACE) Research Collective, and an active member of the Climate Futures Lab, the Disabled Ecologies Lab, the Racial and Anti Colonial Ecologies Lab, and the Latin American SocioNatures Working Group.
